Welcome to Digital Camera Training

This training page is meant to support the use of most any

digital still camera in a classroom envirnoment.

We're going to cover:

Photo management with Picasa (FREE from Google)

Some cool tools and links

Making a video with your stills using Photostory (FREE from Microsoft)

And a place to share your videos (FREE Teachertube)

Some basic camera tricks and tips:

•Your 1 GB SD card holds several hundred pictures (depending on setting) and up to

90 minutes of video with audio.

• If you buy extra memory, spend a couple extra dollars on "hi speed" or pro quality.

• Auto is a pretty good setting 90% of the time

• Try to buy cameras with AA batteries (you can always get some of those)

• Costco.com now has 8 x 10 prints for under $2, don't worry about a color printer (it'll save a ton of cartridges)

PICASA:

Picasa is a free software that allows you to upload, share, manipulate and edit your digital images

(not just things from the camera). You won't need the camera software, but you can use both.
